This weekend marks the beginning of the swimming and track and field U.S. Olympic Trials where several Trojan athletes are looking to secure their spots on the U.S. Olympic team. The swimming trials run from June 29 through July 6, while the track and field trials run from June 27 through July 6.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor women comprise 25 percent of the labor force in traditionally male-dominated occupations such as construction and building workers, railroad conductors and machinists.

It's been a big week for USC senior soccer player Amy Rodriguez.

While her USC teammates were honored at the White House for winning the 2007 National Championship, Rodriguez was named to the U.S. Women's Soccer Olympic Team on Monday.

"I thought winning the national championship was good and a long shot," Rodriguez said to USC Sports Information.

Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama wants you to "lay off his wife."

Perhaps if his wife had "laid off" on campaigning for him, everyone would.

Michelle Obama was recently the subject of strong criticism for a comment she made that until recently, she'd never in her adult life been "really proud" of America before. Barack is upset that Republican groups are using this and similar comments made by Michelle, in their campaigns.

With all the recent national media attention focused on the campus drug investigation, San Diego State President Stephen Weber has received more then 500 e-mails in response, showing a 4-1 favorable support for the university's actions during the investigation.

Associated Students President James Poet said, "When it comes to issues of drug trafficking, those are serious issues that the university has to address."

But what about the 20 percent of SDSU students who came out and disagreed with the university's handling of the situation?
