Although the actual iPad doesn't hit stores for another 30-90 days the recent press release for the product has people already anticipating its release. On Jan. 27 Apple CEO Steve Jobs announced that Apple has come out with a product that that can be the in-between of a laptop and Smartphone. Apple announced that the iPad comes in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB with flash storage. The main tasks of the iPad include browsing the web, checking and sending emails, uploading pictures, a calendar, playing music and video games and reading iBooks. With it's 9.7" LED display Apple claims the product will be the best at performing all aforementioned tasks.

The iPad executes simple functions with ease, such as being able to personalize your background, have a multi-touch screen, landscape or portrait viewing options and a built in life size keyboard that allows users to type comfortably while surfing the web or checking mail.

Since the whole purpose of the iPad being an all in one, on the go type of electronic device, the battery last 10 hours allows it to stay portable and not have to be charged all the time. For travelers, that may come as an advantage when on a long flight or drive.

With a lot of the same functions as the iPhone or Mac the iPad also comes with some new features of it's own. Not only will you be able to add apps that you already have on your iPhone or iTouch to the iPad through its USB sync but there will also be new applications specifically for the iPad. There is also a new store that will be joining the iTunes and Applications store which is the iBooks store.

iBooks are electronic books that are bought through an application on the iPad that allow users to have a library and be able to read their books with the touch of a button. This is supposed to be the main competitor for eReaders and Kindles.

Another feature offered by the iPad is its ability with maps. You can see a map of locations where all pictures you have are on a map of the world. It also comes with the maps application and a compass to help with directions.

One thing that buyers seemed to like is that it is also an environmentally friendly product. It is arsenic free, mercury free, highly recyclable and only weighing 1.5 pounds and 0.5" thin.
